Linda Barth is a retired fourth-grade teacher. She is the executive director of the League of Historical Societies of New Jersey, and has served on the board of Celebrate NJ! and is active in the Delaware & Raritan Canal Watch. She has written two books about the D&R Canal and two children's picture books.

What a treasure!

This is such a wonderful read for anyone who is enthusiastic about New Jersey history. It is composed in a very clean manner which allows you to consume a lot of information without feeling overwhelmed by it. Great photos and a fantastic conversational/anecdotal tone to the writing. I highly recommend.
