Ken Carey's has transcribed a book from the celestial realm that contains pearls of wisdom that I found unparalled in 30 yrs of metaphysical reading and searching. I am reading it for the third time; right around Christmas each year. As the New Millenium dawns, this wondrous message contained within becomes more clear and explicit as time unfolds... We are at a crossroads of mankinds future in the next 12 yrs. Our consciousness will spell the story of what happens to this earth and to all of us upon it. If you want to know what road to place your feet upon, this is the best book I have read to show you that the true answers lie within... Ken Carey is a virtual unknown prophet in our time... I dont understand why this book isnt on the best seller list with "Conversations With God".... Read this book. It will change your life.

Still, the best book I have ever read in my life

Ken Carey claims to have been visited by angelic or other dimensional spirits which gave him the words for this book (and his other books as well). I have read this book countless times and I have come to the conclusion that either Ken Carey is one of the great literary geniuses of our time or he indeed was visited by higher dimensional beings.
Please do not mistake this book for new age fluff. It is written so beautifully and contains so much wisdom that you have to believe that this came from a 'higher source.'
I have recommended this book to people of all walks of life. Even the most stringent of intellectuals, and they have been at least impressed with it's literary style.
There is a lot of doom and gloom in the world today. I admit, I struggle myself with coming to grips with prophecy (biblical and others). There are a lot of people and organizations competing for your attention.
However, if you are a person of faith, I suggest you first pray for peace, wisdom, and enlightment for the world (according to your faith) and I also suggest you read this book. It is a glimpse to the beautiful potential of the human race presented in a manner that continues to inspire a hopeful outlook for me even today.

An Inspired Message- A TRUE MASTERPIECE

I first read this book when it was released in the early 1990's yet it remains as fresh and inspirational as it was the day I first bought it. Ken Carey has tapped into that source of spiritual wisdom that all of us have access to, but few of us ever focus enough to receive. I have read this book countless times. Every time I read it I find myself inspired in new ways like never before. The language and prose are breathtaking. Ken Carey has a marvelous message that is most effective when it is felt emotionally as much it is understood intellectually. Maximum benefit requires both an open mind and an open heart. Its message is simple, yet powerful. I have read hundreds and hundreds of spiritual books and if I were forced to chose to keep only one of them, I would pick this book.

This text, along with others, prepared me for the sacred, spiritual work of (re)membering who I am as an African ascendant person/woman. This text and ideology guide my scholarship and epistemology. In this extraordinary book, Cesar A. Preciado-Cruz reveals a truth that some people do not want to hear, talk about, agree, or even agree to disagree. He keeps it real, and his words are rich with poetry and an inspiring history of LA RAZA ("illegal aliens," Mexican, Chicano/Xicano, Latino, "wetback," Mexica, Indigenous, etc., whatever you want to call descendants of the original people of Anahuak).
Revenge of the Illegal Alien is a treasure chest of exciting information. Cruz AKA Teolol is a spirit-warrior, poet, and revolutionary. This book belongs in every home, sweatshop, school library, clinic waiting room, and mechanic shops. Remember the struggle of la gente or learn it and continue to walk humble with love and respect. Forgive them but don't forget...

A window on reality

a reality that most people never see--the daily lives of working class people of all colors in the large urban centers of the United States. this is the subject of cesar cruz's acute poetic vision. cruz is exhausted by the hypocrisy of a society that promises equal opportunity for all but constructs glass ceilings that lock most of our youth out of college and on a fast track to the lowest ranks of the military or jail (even in the Age of Obama). it's not about "white people" as much as it is about abuse, exploitation, and the lingering systemic racism that just reared it's ugly head against Mexicans and Latinas in the media reaction to the swine flu follies and the Supreme Court nomination. Don't be afraid of cruz. he will teach you what life is like on the mean streets and force you to understand that our only hope for a better world is our youth.

Cesar's words get to the heart of the lived reality of people of color today. Not only does this body of work resonate with all those at the receiving end of war, racism and poverty, but it also speaks to all those searching for some clarity on the many issues plaguing our society. A great tool for educators, writers, artists and activists and a must read for those who can appreciate the art and activism of poetry.

Great Read!

I really enjoyed this book. She tells her family story in such a way that makes you want to read more. It was an easy read and very easy to follow. She describes the sights and sounds in such a way that makes you really know and care about the "characters" in her family. What an awesome book to get a glimpse into a little bit of the history of our country in the early days. Being from the mid-west many of the stories are themes I would imagine my grandparents lived through. It was a very easy story to relate to. History through story telling, the best way to learn. Very enjoyable read.

I Love This Book!

I've always loved stories about pioneers, so when I found out that a childhood friend had written a book about her pioneer ancestors, I knew I had to read it! The book does not disappoint! I feel like I'm right there experiencing their lives! I find myself wanting to drive to find where they lived, which isn't too far away. I haven't felt that way since I read the "Little House" books and visited several of those places. I'm so thrilled by this book and I know I will read it more than once!

If I'm going to read a family history, I want it to be well-researched, but I also want it to be readable -- not just dry fact after fact. Trudy Weaver Flowers obviously spent an enormous amount of time to get her facts straight, but the book really flowed along like a good story should.

Everyone who likes a great story about families moving west in the "old days" will enjoy this book, as I did.

Good book - ended up on my desk at work

Excellent book (made even better by an excellent professor). One of the few that have ended up on my desk at work. It isn't the in-depth-everything-you'll-ever-need-to-know type book, but is small and light enough to make an excellent quick reference when you need it.

I was initially surprised by how small this book actually is, but once we started going through it in class I discovered there is actually quite a bit of material covered in it. The chapters are fairly well written, my only beef was in trying to find some of the formulas. There are so many equations on some of the pages they all start to blend together sometimes. The questions at the end of the chapter were well done and force you to think through the material.

Note that my opinion of the book may be skewed by how much I enjoyed taking the class, more specifically because of an awesome instructor.

Not Mohans best book in the Power and Energy Systems series

This isn't a bad book. This book however does lack enough definition to allow students to build a good intuition in solving electric drives problems. When I used this book for a class, I found myself looking for additional clarification online. also, this book does not contain a disk with the files that Mohan recommends you have to start the labs related to the chapters. A detailed chapter summary/review, an appendix list of key equations, and an included content disk would be great additions to the next revision of this book considering the cost you pay for it.

IDENTICAL TO U.S. EDITION

Like many looking at this book, I bought it because I did not want to spend the absurd amount of money that is charged for the standard edition. The reason I gave this book 5 stars is because it is IDENTICAL TO THE US EDITION. In all ways, this is the same. The text, the problems and the examples are the same. Don't waste your money on the 60-100$ version, just buy this one.

About the Author
Professor Yvonne Jewkes joined the School of Applied Social Science at the University of Brighton in January 2016 as Research Professor in Criminology. Prior to that she was Professor of Criminology at the University of Leicester (2007-2015).

Her main current research interest is the impact of prison architecture, design and technology on the lives of prisoners and prison staff. She has recently written on the theme of ‘doing prison research differently’ and about the role of emotion and auto-ethnography in prison research. She is also researching the potential role of computer-mediated technologies on the everyday lives and future prospects of prisoners; and the particular problems that face elderly inmates, from the poor design of prisons to end-of-life healthcare. A theme which has underpinned much of her previous work is that of self and identity: how masculinity is 'performed' in men’s prisons; how lifers manage their identity through a disrupted lifecourse; how new communication technologies permit individuals to create, transform, play with, or steal identities and how researchers gain from being attuned to the emotional and auto-ethnographic aspects of their work

She is also known for her work on media and crime and is the author of the bestselling Media and Crime (now in its third edition) and the forthcoming Media and Crime in the USA (co-authored with Travis Linnemann).

About the Author
Debra L. Ruegg is a principal and senior consultant with the LarsonAllen Public Service Group, a leading financial management consulting firm for nonprofits, foundations, and entrepreneurial government entities. She has worked extensively with local and national foundations and nonprofits on financial assessments, financial systems, internal operating systems, and organizational assessments and design. She is coauthor (with Susan Kenny Stevens) of Budgeting Your Way to Financial Stability.

Lisa M. Venkatrathnam is a freelance writer and owner of White Fence Communications. She previously served as a consultant at the LarsonAllen Public Service Group. She is coauthor of several books and numerous studies.

Excellent Resource for Beginners & Small Non-Profits

This is a great resource for people who do not have any background in bookkeeping or accounting. I did take two accounting classes in college about 10 years ago but they had pretty much nothing to do with bookkeeping or non-profits. What this book has that others don't is very specific instructions for going from source documents to making journal entries to posting to the General Ledger. Basic stuff that is incredibly confusing if you don't know how to do it-and ridiculously simple once you do.

Good introduction to NFP accounting concepts

I read this as a refresher of bookkeeping for a small non-profit organization. I picked up some good tips on reporting and budgeting. The details of accounting will have to be gleaned from another source, especially when there is an error in the records that isn't obvious. Overall, I found this book helpful.

Good, but left me wanting more

Starting with little knowledge of bookkeeping, I learned from this book that much of what I thought I knew was wrong. It is a good book and has helped me a lot, but when I finished, I still had more questions than answers. In particular, I would have liked more information about how to begin and end an accounting period.
